1/22/13 - Roe v. Wade 40th Anniversary Discussion Location: Webster's Cafe and Bookstore, 133 E. Beaver Avenue, State College 16801 Time: 10am-11am
Ni-Ta-Nee NOW leaders will present information on the legal background, history, and aspects of Roe, reproductive justice issues by class and race, and expected legislation to be introduced in the PA legislature attacking or supporting Roe. Discussion will follow.

The Unitarian Church of Harrisburg welcomes several speakers to commemorate and celebrate the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The featured speaker will be Rev. Rob Keithan, Director of Public Policy for the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Other speakers include: Chaplain James Cavenaugh, “Lisa,” Rabbi Eric Cytryn, Shuso Julie Good-Kruger, and Rev. Richard C. Gordon. Join Women's Medical Fund and Women's Law Project to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Come learn about the harassment, violence and terrorism abortion providers experience and how the law is helping – or not. David S. Cohen, Associate Professor of Law at Drexel University's Earle Mack School of Law, and Krysten Connon (Drexel School of Law, Class of 2012) present their research on the targeted harassment of abortion providers. Cohen and Connon traveled the country and interviewed 85 abortion providers who shared their most personal and terrifying moments and how they cope with the risks they face. Please note: there is a fee for this event and proceeds support Women's Medical Fund. Light refreshments will be provided.
